I delight in the small things, the briefest of moments

My horse turning toward me,

Him mirroring my movements.

A really smooth walk halt transition.

Our greatest achievements are sometimes hardly perceptible

My horse shifting his center of gravity toward me,

Him turning an ear to listen.

A small whisper to HO.

The basics always need refining

I learn to ask for less and less,

In a softer voice then I thought possible.

Staying still and being present.

Waiting is a comfortable, slowing down a form of art

My horse teaches me how to regulate

He is patient and forgives often.

Honest feedback is a gift.
